Covenantal Partnership
What does it mean to partner with Potomac Classical Conservatory?
At Potomac Classical Conservatory, ‘covenantal partnership’ means that we are in covenant with one another, and with God, in a shared vision and mission. This partnership is at the very core of who we are as a community of faith and learning.
Covenantal partnership goes beyond basic involvement or transactional agreements—it means that we share core and agreed-upon biblical principles, objectives, and doctrines. Our partnership with Christian parents whose faith is growing within the membership of a local evangelical church ensures that the minds and hearts of students are simultaneously cultivated at home, at church, and at school. We are convinced that true heart-alignment among the parents at Potomac Classical will give our children a profoundly formative academic, social, and spiritual education.
Prospective Parent Viewing Tours
Attendance is required at a Prospective Parent Viewing Tour prior to enrollment.
During the school year, we host monthly Prospective Parent Viewing Tours. If you are interested in Admissions for the 2025-2026 school year, please complete the Viewing Tour Sign-Up form below to register for a Viewing Tour. We have three types of Viewing Tours: Lower School (Kindergarten-5th Grade), Upper School (6th-12th Grade), and Virtual (for families who do not live in the DC area).
As you endeavor to learn about and know the many educational options in the DC metro area, we hope to provide more information about our school. It is our honor to help families understand the mission and vision of Potomac Classical Conservatory and to share our distinctives as a unique classical Christian school that enjoys a strong partnership with homeschooling parents. We look forward to helping you walk through the admissions process should you choose Potomac Classical for your child’s education.
We believe our Prospective Parent Viewing Tours are the best way to see the heartbeat of what we do. We encourage you to join us at our next Viewing Tour to learn a little more about Potomac Classical's mission, faculty, and community in the City of Alexandria.
The Admissions Process
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now available!
All submitted applications will be processed beginning January 2025. Applications are not accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Potomac Classical Conservatory accepts mission-aligned student applications on a rolling basis.
The first step is to submit an application. To begin the process, using the link below, please submit one application and fee per applying student via the button below. The application fee is $150 for the first student and $75 for each additional student applying. The Admissions Coordinator will confirm receipt of your application.
Once open enrollment begins in January and your application has been reviewed, you will be directed back to our admissions portal, ALMA, to submit transcripts, previous and current report cards, any applicable standardized test scores, and a current list of homeschooling curricula, as applicable. The school will provide a Records Release form to send to your child’s most recent school administrator; acquiring all student records and transcripts will give us a more complete picture of every prospective student.
After your transcripts have been received, the Admissions Coordinator will assist you in scheduling a New Student Academic Assessment for rising 1st through 10th grade or a Kindergarten and 1st Grade Visit Day.
In 2nd through 12th grade Academic Assessments, the Academic Dean will look specifically to determine if math, reading, writing, and grammar are at the appropriate grade level. There is a $125 fee associated with each Academic Assessment for rising 1st through 10th grade.
Rising Kindergarten and 1st grade students will participate in a Kindergarten and 1st Grade Visit Day. There is a $25 fee for Visit Day participation. On the Visit Day, students will participate in a condensed school day from 8:30-11 am. Please contact the Admissions team if you would like your child to attend a Visit Day.
Prior to attending the Parent Admissions Interview, please complete the two required readings:
Introduction Into Classical Education, which you should have received at the tour
Wisdom and Eloquence: A Christian Paradigm for Classical Learning – Chapters 1-4 and Appendices A & B
As the final step in the admissions process, parents will attend an Admissions Interview with the Head of School. This is an opportunity for parents to learn more about Potomac Classical, and for us to learn more about your family.
Please note that, for their starting year, Kindergarten students must turn five by July 15.
